I’m really pining after a few pieces of leather costume jewellery to spruce up my wrists – specifically the Double Tour bracelet from Balenciaga. I’ve never been one to wear jewellery very often but I keep seeing people wearing these beautiful pieces and I’m dying to acquire one!

So the new season is starting to hit stores and Mr Porter already have a fine selection of items to covet.

The super-cute CHANEL pop-up beauty store opened today in Covent Garden. The store is the first of its kind and provides CHANEL a platform to target its beauty customers in a more personable space.
The store will stock the same products as beauty concessions although certain key items will be available earlier at the stand-alone than on department store counters. The concept is similar to that offered by other cosmetics brands including MAC but the finish is totally CHANEL with mini-artworks created from CHANEL cosmetic products adorning the walls.
To celebrate the launch, the brand parked four London taxi cabs outside painted in various nail varnish shades – my favourite was the 555 Blue Boy colour. Kay Montano also gave make-up tutorials using an array of classic CHANEL products including lipsticks, eye shadows, blushers, powders and mascaras.
The store itself is compact and chic with a clean, gloss finish on counter tops. The products are displayed beautifully – tempting consumers to indulge in a little touch of luxury.
The store will be open until December so make sure you head down soon before it’s too late!
I wasn’t a particular fan of the Dries Van Noten AW’12 collection shown earlier this year but after seeing some of the pieces in person at Selfridges I’m beginning to become a real fan of the prints and fabrications used.
For SS’13 Van Noten decided to explore camouflage in all its guises and mix it up in different finishes and compositions to create a visual cacophony of print. The injections of orange and navy as well as check made for an all-together quite appealing proposition.
Definitely a collection worth waiting for in my opinion.

I’m having a clutch/small bag phase at the moment and this PS11 from Proenza Schouler is now on my wishlist.
The bag comes in a sensible black (although other colours are also available) and the size is just right for what I need. Personally I’d detach the shoulder strap and carry it as a clutch but it’s great that you can also use it as a satchel style bag.
I have also seen the beautiful Prince Pelayo with one on his blog ‘Kate Loves Me‘.
Will start saving my pennies – however, if anyone wants to buy it for me get in touch!!

Mr Porter produced a trio of short-films that helped to capture the essence of the recent London Collections: Men. They didn’t focus on the shows themselves but instead looked at the people on the street (what they wore and who shot them) as well as asking a bevy of male ‘fashionistors’ (my male equivalent of a ‘fashionista’) what they are most looking forward to come AW’12.
