Lanvin Striped T-Shirt

I am having a t-shirt phase at the moment. Christopher Kane and Jil Sander are both tickling my fancy and now Lanvin has also joined the club…

I like the simplicity of a striped t-shirt however I love a striped t-shirt with a twist. The panelling effect on this Lanvin number has the effect of making the wearer look both broader and taller.

Dream Outfit No.4

I decided it was about time I created another look from the new pieces available from Mr Porter. I am a big fan of this site and their buys are becoming more and more appealing as each season passes.

I love the reptile print Jil Sander t-shirt and the luxe sweatpants from Lanvin make a great wardrobe staple. I’m all for a great Burberry Prorsum jacket and the YSL boots are just classic and easy. Quite a weird combo I admit but I think the overall look could make for quite a cool, casual ensemble.

Jacket - Burberry Prorsum: £1,295; Trousers – Lanvin: £270; T-Shirt – Jil Sander: £190; Shoes – Yves Saint Laurent: £690; Watch – Uniform Wares: £110

All clothing and shoes is available from Mr Porter

Lanvin AW’11 Ad Campaign Video

OK, I know I’m a little late to blog about this video but every time I see it I love it even more! I kept looking at the print ads and wondering how they shot the images. Was it a mirror image with a different model photoshopped in or was it just one take with both models mirroring each other?! After seeing this video though, my anxiety has been relieved as it clearly shows how the photographs were created.

I love Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmermann anyway but the male models are even funnier as they can’t actually dance! Lowell Tautchin and Milo Spijkers; you need to find somebody to teach you how to dance properly…

I also love how Alber Elbaz almost bursts through, pushing aside the incompetent male ‘dancers’ to strut his stuff.

Lanvin Blazer Jacket

Hello Lanvin AW’11 deconstructed blazer jacket… I would like you in my wardrobe as a staple item!

I love the contrast lapels and the cut of the jacket. I think this would flatter me nicely…

Lanvin Menswear SS’12

The SS’12 collection from Lanvin was a definite departure from the norm.

Tailoring was still a prominent feature but textures were different and unique and the silhouettes took an androgynous direction with longer cuts and more versatile shapes. The fact that the models also looked relatively gender neutral also helped re-affirm this design choice.

There were some key pieces that really stood out. Zipped jackets/coats that had a Rick Owens-esque appearance as well as waxed/patent blazer jackets, printed leggings and leather shirts. The colour palette was rather subdued for a Spring/Summer collection but I think it works really well.

Although the clothes shown aren’t anything new in relation to the general industry; I think the aesthetic is a welcome change for Lanvin and I look forward to seeing how this new direction evolves over the coming seasons. It will also be interesting to see how this direction translates, if at all, into the womenswear collection due to be shown later this year.

Lanvin Patent Leather Derby Shoe

So Mr Porter have now started stocking AW’11 stock and I have had a lil peek to see if there are any key pieces that I love.

These Lanvin patent leather derby shoes are to die for! The colour is gorgeous and it’s about time I invest in a nice pair of simple, patent shoes that I can wear for both informal, social situations and more formal, ‘work’ events.
